The field report
Taproom 260 was a disappointing burger stop. We waited approximately 30 to 40 minutes for our food, and the burger arrived cold and overcooked at the same time. It seemed as though it may have been ready for some time before reaching our table, which immediately hurt the experience. Yet once again, the devil's lettuce showed up (spring lettuce, no they didn't drug us, but please stop putting this on burger's.)
The service itself was objectively good, so the delay appeared to come from the kitchen rather than our server. The fries were very good, while the beer and selection were about what we would expect from a typical pub.
The restaurant’s atmosphere was only okay, but sitting on the patio ended up being the right decision. A busker performing in the middle of the square completely changed the experience, taking an otherwise mediocre atmosphere and making it feel close to exceptional. Maybe you can luck out like we did.
The fries, service and patio entertainment all had their strengths, but the burger has to lead the final verdict. A long wait followed by a cold burger makes Taproom 260 a non-recommendation for us.
