The field report
The revamped Delicious Steak House has come a long way from what we remembered years ago. Since we already knew the restaurant could deliver an excellent steak, we wanted to see whether its burger could live up to the same standard.
The burger was good, but we strongly suspected that it used a frozen patty. It was still a good version of a frozen burger, and we were not unhappy with the meal, but that detail kept it from reaching the level we expected from a steakhouse. At $22, the price still felt reasonable, and bread was included with the meal.
The fries were exceptional and easily the strongest part of the plate. They had the same style as Costco food-court fries, which is always a win in our books. Service has consistently been good here, and this visit was no exception. The atmosphere was more intimate than a typical pub and made for an enjoyable change of pace.
Overall, Delicious Steak House remains a strong restaurant, but the burger did not quite match the reputation set by its steaks. It was enjoyable and worth trying, although the outstanding fries ultimately made the bigger impression.
